OK, so its really Tuesday

but since I missed posting yesterday, we'll pretend that...

It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?
which is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey

I am almost finished with The Battle of the Labyrinth.  It has been slow going because, I read another book over the weekend.  It was Beastly by Alex Flinn.  I loved that book.  It was a Beauty and the Beast retelling, and I really liked the main character, Kyle Kingsbury.  Of course, he was a jerk at first, which is why he was cursed, but I could see his growth to a fine person throughout the course of the book.  The romance portion was lacking, as I didn't really see why they loved each other, but the character development made the story worth reading.  I would definitely read another book by Alex Flinn.

On the other hand, The Battle of the Labyrinth is a slow read for me.  I didn't like The Titan's Curse that well, so waited a while before reading book 4 in the series.  I only have 2 chapters left, but will wait a while again before reading book 5.  I will still read it, just to see how the series ends.  One thing I do like is that I am learning about Greek mythology.  Maybe I would like other retellings of Greek mythology better than the books by Rick Riordan.  I'll have to try to find some, and see what I think.  Radiant Darkness is on my TBR pile, and that one deals with Persephone.  Maybe I'll like that one better.

This weekend I did get to read more because my son Nathan was in the hospital with an emergency appendectomy.  He is recovering well, and I was able to read a lot while staying with him in his hospital room.
